Hospice Djursland
In the fall of 2007, Hospice Djursland, which is built following the principles of ‘Programme for The Good Hospice in Denmark’, opened. And as a number of new hospices open in the years to come, the recommendations of the campaign will be made real.
In 2010, Hospice Søndergård will open in Måløv. The hospice is beautifully situated by a small lake and is built like a traditional farm; however, the wings are angled to create recesses such as covered terraces, inner courtyards and the like. The 14 residents’ rooms face the lake and are sound proofed to keep out all traffic noise. All rooms are decorated with wood as the main material, which helps give them a warm and cosy light.
In Bandholm in Lolland, Svanevig Hospice will open in 2010. The hospice is placed in a beautiful spot by the water, and all 12 rooms have a view of the sea. They are placed in a staggered fashion and connected by a hallway with a number of lounge areas that provide the building with small intimate niches. The hospice will contain a flexible auditorium, a reflection room and a sensory garden.
Filadelfia Hospice will open in 2010 in Dianalund. A modern interpretation of the three-wing farm, the hospice opens towards a park, and in the middle is a sensory and therapeutic garden. The garden can be accessed directly from the communal areas and each of the 12 residents’ rooms, which also have private terraces. Filadelfia Hospice is built in connection with the Filadelfia institution, which has for more than 100 years contributed solutions for the healthcare and social sectors and runs, among other things, an epilepsy hospital, a rehabilitation centre for people with brain damage, a special school and a psychiatric hospital.
